The RIKEN Brain Science Institute， located outside Tokyo， Japan， will be holding its annual summer program entitled， "Neural Circuits from Top to Bottom." The aim of the lecture program is to gain deeper insights into the underlying circuits and synapses that drive the behavior in response to the outside world.

This summer program is designed to encourage and further the education of young neuroscientists and emerging researchers as they enter the international neuroscience community. There are two different programs that applicants can choose from.

Plan A: Internship and Lecture Course (June 12- August 7， 2013)
Summer interns will work in a BSI Lab for two months and participate in the research activities of the host laboratory. Interns will give a presentation on their work at the end of the course.

Plan B: Lecture Course (July 2， July 10， 2013)
The lecture course is set up to present both basic concept as well as cutting edge research that will aid in understanding the selected theme. The intensive course is a coherent platform from where a wide variety of important new research and techniques can be demonstrated.

Some bursaries may be provided to those students who are unable to provide their own financial support.
